There are different procedures that are used by the government to deport or remove a person
from the United States if the person does not have authorization to be present in the country. The
procedure used depends on the individual circumstances of the person and on the claims raised by
the person. Below are deportation statistics of the number of deportation cases that were filed by
the government with the Immigration Courts each year from 1992 to 2012, according to TRAC.

ordered to be deported by the Immigration Courts. This is due in part to the number of
immigration cases filed, the process involved, and the length of time it takes for a case to be
scheduled and completed. Additionally, many of the deportation cases filed with the Immigration
Courts do not result in the entry of a deportation order. Here are the number of persons ordered
deported by the Immigration Courts from 1998 to 2012, according to TRAC.
