Number of deportation cases that were filed with the
Immigration Courts in New York from 1992 to 2012
There are different procedures that are used by the government to deport or remove a person
from the United States if the person does not have authorization to be present in the country. The
procedure used depends on the individual circumstances of the person and on the claims raised
by the person. In some cases, if the government seeks to have the person deported or removed,
it is required to file a deportation case with the Immigration Court. In other cases, it is able to
deport the person without having to file a deportation case with the Immigration Court.
Below are deportation statistics related to the number of deportation cases that were filed with
